Our
client is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide frontline
technical assistance to customers designing Bluetooth systems using
BlueCore devices.
This assistance is primarily via email and occasional conference calls.
The ideal candidate will have a sound footing in hardware design issues
and embedded software design and implementation.
Customer
questions can range from RF problems, digital baseband issues and application
and stack software questions.
The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for providing prompt
answers to any customer questions by utilising internal documentation,
intranets and by liaising with other individuals and teams.
Basic lab skills will also be needed as this role can require evaluation
and modification of customer boards. Testing in house designs will also
form part of this role.
Our client will provide on the job training on the Bluetooth specification
and their products as well as the use of Bluetooth and RF test equipment
for RF evaluation.
Training will also be provided on writing embedded applications in C
to run on our clients BlueCore devices.
Occasional travel outside the UK (customer/distributor visits) may be
required so a valid passport would be needed.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good understanding of hardware and software fundamentals.
Basic C programming skills.
Basic Lab skills
A desire to work within a customer facing organisation
1 year in a technical role, however a new graduate would be considered
An outgoing personality
Desirable Skills and Experience:
RF experience a plus but not essential.
Knowledge of Bluetooth or communications systems a plus but not essential.
