Digital ASIC Design and Verification Engineer

Their cutting-edge reconfigurable RF and broadcast technologies are making their mark - initially in the fast-growing markets of mobile TV and digital radio. With significant VC backing, they are developing an extensive range of world-beating products.

Background:

• Candidate will be responsible for digital core/sub-system design, verification and integration for a range of unique and innovative wireless semiconductor products which will be implemented in predominantly “mixed signal” CMOS processes (typically 130nm to 250nm technology nodes)
• Will work as the primary digital ASIC design engineer in a multi-disciplinary team comprising systems, RFIC, mixed signal IC and software engineers
• Will work closely with RF and digital hardware system architects to determine best partitioning of functionality between analogue and digital domains
• Will be responsible for digital block-level specification, design, synthesis and verification
• Role may involve liaison/management of 3 rd party design houses sub-contracted to complete the back-end elements of the design flow (synthesis, place and route, GDS2 delivery)
• Location: 100% office-based Fleet, Hampshire

Key skills:

• A degree qualified engineer with 5+ years experience in digital ASIC design using Verilog and/or VHDL (or an engineer with equivalent experience)
• hands-on experience with all elements complete digital ASIC design flow from RTL/design entry, through to synthesis, verification, and GDS2 delivery
• experience with targeting designs to FPGA for prototyping/proof-of-principle
• experience with Design For Test methodologies
• specific experience with digital filter, baseband modem, microcontroller or USB/PCIexpress hardware design would be advantageous
• a strong interest to work in a fast-paced development environment and to develop a broader range of digital design skills designing consumer wireless semiconductor devices
