Mechanical Project Engineer

Our client is a long established manufacturing company producing honeycomb sandwich panels for applications to the automotive, rail, aerospace and marine industries and they looking to recruit looking to recruit an experienced mechanical engineer to work on projects. Under the guidance of the Projects Manager the role will consist of managing various packages of work as allocated by the preparing of responses and quotations to enquiries generated from various internal and external sales and marketing routes. You will be keen to create suitable solutions in a timely manner to meet those customer's needs. The ability to communicate and follow up to help maximise the probability of securing the order is essential. You will need to be capable of providing a support role to manufacturing to ensure that those requirements are implemented in the most suitable and effective way. The role also requires an ability to interface technically both internally and externally at all levels.

Ideally the applicant should have an HNC in Mechanical engineering or a related subject but experience is more important. Previous experience of basic manufacturing techniques, e.g. pressing, cold bonding and vacuum bag curing operations, basic fabrication, machining skills and process knowledge would be useful. Also basic project management techniques with experience gained preferably on the job in a small batch manufacturing company is highly desirable along with the ability to interact confidently with professionally trained customers and suppliers.
