Our client is seeking to recruit a well qualified engineer (preferably to a Phd level) to produce design specifications with time and cost targets for the delivery of new product designs using best design practice and simulation tools.

Ideally you will have a good first degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or Physics (although a MSc. Or a Phd is preferred) you will have had previous experience of Design of power electronic projects using IGBT, SMPS and microprocessor embedded systems knowledge to time scales, to budget and ensure specification are adhered to.

All Electronic/Electrical designs must meet EMC and LVD standards work will also include PCB design, FPGA / PIC hardware and Assembly /C programming.

Additionally you must have had previous electrical CAD experience – with the ability to create schematic and circuit diagrams within electronic systems environment.
Knowledge of circuit simulators and tools like Spice and Matlab along with experience in one or more of the following:
High power switching amplifiers, High power supplies, control systems is strongly preferred.
