Our client is seeking a Linux Software Engineer with one to three years’ general software engineering experience.
The candidate must have an honours degree, a minimum of two years experience programming in C/C++ and a demonstrated ability to complete a software project in a commercial environment.
A general interest in hardware and storage technology is an advantage.

Your main responsibilities will be to see through the development of functional specifications, creating new software components and systems to agreed specifications, developing unit and regression tests for new components, maintenance of existing code and management of new feature development.

The successful candidate will be working on a sophisticated system, which is part of an integrated system which provides network users with the facility to transparently archive fixed content files.
You must have significant experience in C++, OO , Corba, Perl, Shell Script, Networking and knowledge of Linux OS internals.
Experience of Storage technologies (SMB/CIFS, NFS, file systems) is preferred. In addition you must be able to demonstrate an intelligent approach to problem solving, a keen interest in software design and implementation, good team player and an organised approach to software development.
